Advising on contracts to intellectual property, antitrust and competitive practices, negotiation to litigation
Rick has spent more than 25 years on the front lines of litigation over contracts, competitor's trade practices and antitrust claims, trade secret misappropriation, and patent and trademark litigation. He has also developed extensive experience in analyzing and litigating issues regarding fraud, tortious interference, and confidentiality agreements. He puts that experience to work to develop exceptional strategies, design or defend claims, and to litigate for results.
He has appeared and argued before federal and state courts, including at trial and appeal, across the country. He has managed and advised on complex litigation for Fortune 500 companies as well as developing businesses and individuals. He now utilizes that experience to advise and assist clients who wish to develop their own strategy, seek an adequate remedy for wrongful conduct, and to effectively defend or lodge counterclaims in actions already brought.
Rick is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, an award winning-litigator, adjunct professor of law at Michigan State College of Law, former Chairperson of the Antitrust and Trade Regulation Section for the Michigan State Bar, and a technology and science enthusiast. He resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Areas of Practice
contracts and business disputes
Contracts are the foundation of business. If thoughtfully andwell-designed, they can benefit both parties. If not, the results can be long lasting, lead to disputes and to expensive and lengthy litigation. We are experienced in litigating the disputes as well as how to best avoid them.
Competition and antitrust
Business practices that are unfair can violate state or federal antitrust and trade regulation laws. Companies often miss an opportunity to level the playing field and halt anticompetitive actions by competitors. We know how and when the law can protect your business from unfair legal issues.
Intellectual Property
Patents, trademarks and trade secrets can be essential for companies, but are often the subject of disputes. An understanding of what should be done to protect your intellectual property, or how to defend against a threat of enforcement, can make or break projects and businesses alike.
